archeoParc Villandro
Wioska Villandro to małe, ale piękne miejsce na wakacje w środkowej części Valle Isarco, gdzie goście zainteresowani historią starożytną, wykopaliskami archeologicznymi i innymi dowodami przeszłości są szczególnie dobrze obsługiwani.
ArcheoParc na tak zwanym Plunacker w Villandro zapewnia to od 2009 roku. Podczas prac budowlanych związanych z liniami energetycznymi, w 1976 roku odkryto tam pozostałości prehistorycznej osady.
Znaleziska dowodzą, że obszar ten był zamieszkany już w epoce kamienia, w starożytności rzymskiej i w średniowieczu. Dzięki korzystnemu położeniu i dość łagodnemu klimatowi przez wieki spotykały się tu kultury północy i południa.
Pozostałości z różnych okresów - w sumie trzy budynki i części czwartego - zostały odkryte w latach 80. przez Urząd Ochrony Zabytków w Bolzano i zajmują powierzchnię około 1600m2. Warstwy archeologiczne pochodzące z okresu neolitu są szczególnie godne uwagi i zostały prawie całkowicie zachowane pod ziemią do dnia dzisiejszego. Same wykopaliska są całkowicie przykryte, a tym samym chronione przed wiatrem i warunkami atmosferycznymi.
W szerszym otoczeniu Villandro znajdują się inne historyczne miejsca warte odkrycia, na przykład w sąsiednim Velturno znajduje się miejsce kultu z megalitami z epoki brązu. Naukowcy znaleźli tam również miejsca pochówku i pozostałości pieca do wypalania ceramiki, które prawdopodobnie pochodzą z czasów pierwszych osadników w regionie.
