Residence St. Hippolyt

Excellent experience at St. Hippolyt. We had a mezzanine apartment overlooking the garden with a view of the little church. The pool was lovely, even if it wasn't heated, and there was a hot tub for relaxing. The kids played happily in the large room equipped with a few games: foosball, ping pong, etc. The staff was friendly. You can pick up bread in the morning, but if you don't reserve your stay, you'll receive the same order every day. Only two gripes: 1. Our sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable; two single beds in the kids' room would be better. 2. The church bell, for those who are a bit of a light sleeper, starts ringing at 6:15 in the morning. Excellent value for money! Recommended!

This was our first time staying there with our child, and we'll definitely be back. The apartment was clean, except for a dirty egg cup and a grimy chopping board. The kitchen (without an oven) and bathroom with shower were modern, while the rest of the apartment was rustic but functional. According to the friendly staff, the previous guests had left quite late, and they made every effort to get everything ready as quickly as possible. Cold drinks (wine, soda, water, and a beer, all reasonably priced) were already in the refrigerator, which we thought was great. Salt and pepper, a coffee maker, and a toaster were provided; everything else you have to bring or buy. I highly recommend the lemon soda. The location wasn't ideal. The two balconies offered wonderful mountain views but faced the street, and the bus stop was right below. If you leave the windows open when it's 28 degrees Celsius outside at night, the night is over by 6 a.m. However, it was advantageous for us in the evenings, as that side of the building was then in the shade and cooled down a bit. One more thing: in August, the Dörflingen church festival takes place right on the street. We found it quite beautiful to look at, but the music and noise kept us awake for a long time, as the windows didn't really help much. The pool and jacuzzi in the second building were a dream after every day of hiking. The playroom underneath is a bit dated and doesn't offer enough toys for small children. Perhaps that's because people aren't very considerate? I'd bring my own toys next time. Wi-Fi was available almost everywhere in the house without any problems, but it wasn't a priority for us. Beware of the narrow underground parking garage! They try to assign you a suitable parking space, but it can be quite tight with a VW bus or a rooftop camper. If possible, it's best to reverse in. The location itself is beautiful. To go shopping, you have to take a short walk (I recommend along the river; it's faster and more scenic) or take the bus down, which runs every half hour. There are small shops as well as a very large shopping center, so there's something for everyone. For car enthusiasts: Leave it parked and use the South Tyrol Guest Pass, which also includes the mountain lifts. It was incredibly worthwhile and allowed us to slow down even more. One personal recommendation: for pizza, head over to Ladurn in Marling. It's only a 10-minute drive and the pizza has been exceptional for years. As mentioned, we'll be back. We would have come in winter too, but unfortunately, the house is closed then. Many thanks to the Augsten family for a wonderful holiday.

We spent a truly enjoyable week and were thrilled above all with the hospitality, kindness, and helpfulness of the owners, who made us feel at ease from the very first moment. The location is one of the great strengths: quiet and immersed in an enchanting setting, yet logistically convenient for reaching Merano and many of the area's main destinations. The apartment is very spacious, clean, and has a truly well-equipped kitchen, which we greatly appreciated as a family trip. The rooms and furnishings are a bit dated, but they are well-maintained, and the spaces are spacious and functional. The terraces are especially beautiful, offering extraordinary views of the mountains and the valley. Another plus is the pool, a real treat, especially for those traveling with children who want to enjoy some relaxation without leaving the property. One piece of information we feel is helpful for those staying during the warmer months: the lack of air conditioning: with summer temperatures rising, on particularly hot days, the heat can be felt even inside the apartment. However, it didn't detract from the wonderful experience we had. Overall, we had a truly wonderful time, and the whole family has fond memories of our stay. We highly recommend this place and would gladly return.

We had two wonderful weeks and a perfect, relaxing stay. The pool helped us forget the heat in the afternoons and evenings. The pool is a good size, so both children and adults can enjoy it. We've been coming here for years and it's always wonderful. The stunning view and excellent transport links are perfect for a great holiday. The apartments are functionally furnished and clean. Drinks are available for purchase on-site, which is very convenient. The bread roll delivery service in the morning is fantastic. The city bus stops right outside the door and goes in all directions – perfect for a family outing. We always love coming back!

A very friendly welcome, a great view, and a large, comfortable apartment. We have no complaints.

The house and apartments are somewhat dated, but clean and well-maintained. However, if you want stable Wi-Fi in your apartment, this is the wrong place. With the apartment door open, it's available in the adjoining kitchen, but significantly weaker in the living/bedroom behind it. If you close the apartment door, the network is usually no longer detectable, meaning it's unusable. For us, however, the behavior of Mr. Augsten, the owner's son, is worse than the unavailability. He promised to take care of it twice (1. checking the access points and providing feedback, 2. installing a repeater in our kitchen), but twice, absolutely NOTHING happened. We're still on site and now assume he's just waiting it out. For us, that means: Once and never again. A real shame and no longer up-to-date; after all, it could be permanently fixed with comparatively little financial outlay. If you don't value reliable Wi-Fi and keeping promises, this is certainly the place to be. Update: The repeater has just been installed, so we now have Wi-Fi. This upgrades the rating from 2 to 3 stars. "Only" 3 stars because the problem was only resolved for our apartment.
