W Val Senales, na wysokości 1689 metrów nad poziomem morza, znajduje się zbiornik Vernagt. W pobliżu znajduje się miejsce, w którym znaleziono "Ötzi", Człowieka Lodu. Jego mumia została odkryta w 1991 roku.

Nieco dalej, w zielonej Val Pusteria, znajduje się szereg innych jezior, takich jak Dobbiaco See, Anterselva See czy Lago di Braies. Jeśli jednak chcesz tu popływać, musisz być szczególnie odważny i nie bać się chłodnej wody.
Jeśli warunki wietrzne na to pozwalają, podczas wakacji nad jeziorem w Południowym Tyrolu można również uprawiać różne sporty wodne, takie jak windsurfing i kitesurfing. Słynie z tego jezioro Reschensee w gminie Graun w Curon Venosta, z którego wznosi się wieża kościelna Alt-Graun - znak rozpoznawczy okolicy.
