We are very fortunate to live on the sunny side of the Alps and to offer dreamlike holidays for our guests. Hotel Schmalzlhof offers both guestrooms and apartments and spoils you with a familiar atmosphere, with friendly service and traditional as well as international cuisine.

Dream holidays

All premises are equipped with any comfort for a pleasant stay. The equipment of the rooms includes a bathroom with shower/WC, sofa bed, balcony with panoramic view, phone, satellite TV and safe. The apartments also offer a fully equipped kitchen. Our guests in the apartments can also enjoy the breakfast buffet and dinner at our hotel. Available as well: elevator, playroom and playground for our small guests as well as beautiful garden with sunbathing lawn. In our new and elegantly designed spa area with Finnish sauna, steam bath, bio sauna, infrared cabin, adventure shower, relaxation room and unique water massage with light effects is the ideal place for relaxing moments.

Discovering the surroundings

Our Hotel Schmalzlhof in Oberrasen is the perfect starting point for excursions in the nearby Dolomites or in Rieserferner Ahrn Nature Park – it does not matter if on foot, by bike or by motorcycle. In winter, you can enjoy perfectly prepared slopes on Mt. Kronplatz or cross-country skiing in Antholz.

This was our second year at this property, taking advantage of the self-catering option, with some dinners at the hotel. The apartment was modern and comfortable, with excellent cuisine, and the pool and spa area was splendid and spotlessly clean. The Antholz Valley is beautiful and easily accessible by public transport or bicycle. The Puster Valley is easily accessible by car or train, traffic permitting. Friendly, always available staff. Excellent property, highly recommended.

My partner and I stayed the week of August 15th. The hotel's location is excellent for reaching many places, both for sightseeing and trekking. The wellness area, with saunas and a pool, is excellent. The breakfast was generous and the dinner delicious. The service was perfect. We really appreciated the family management of the hotel. It's just such a pleasant atmosphere; you immediately feel at home. The hosts are always up for a chat, the food is super delicious (vegetarian options included), and the sauna with pool and sunbathing lawn are fantastic. You can explore everything by bike, go on great hikes, or explore many child-friendly places. A great base for a vacation with a top-notch hotel :-)

The hotel is in a quiet location, ideal for excursions in the Antholz Valley, but also within easy reach of the Puster Valley, Dobbiaco, Braies, Brunico, and other towns. You can even cross the border. The hotel is family-run, very welcoming, and everyone is very friendly. The food is good. Different dishes are offered every day. We stayed in an apartment in the annex, which was very comfortable and completely new. The indoor pool and spa area are beautiful. They also welcome our four-legged friends. Our experience was very positive, and we hope to return next year. Thanks to the very kind and patient Manuela and all the staff.

Last year we went to spend our holidays in this hotel because some friends of ours recommended it to us. This year we came back because we went to visit other friends of ours to whom we gave the contract and they went to spend their holidays. It is a quiet place, ideal for hiking and e-bike excursions. It has a nice indoor pool. Large rooms. Good food. Family run. Friendly staff.
