Hotel Meinhardt

We spent a wonderful weekend at this hotel. The location is excellent, just 3 minutes from Merano, with a splendid view that makes our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is welcoming, well-maintained, and very clean. Special praise goes to the staff, always kind and helpful, who truly make you feel at home. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

My review is a personal one. The hotel is located high in the mountains. The access road is narrow, making it difficult for pedestrians. Check-in was impersonal. The rooms seem to follow a specific design concept, lacking in coziness. The room was clean, and the view was good. For example, the soap in the shower wasn't replaced during my stay; it simply ran out. I've stayed in over 1,000 hotels in my life, both for business and pleasure. Breakfast was quite good, but I found it lacking in variety. The service was good, though. There was a complimentary afternoon buffet, which was a nice touch. For dinner, you sign up on a list in the morning and choose your meal. There's also a salad bar. The buffet itself is impressive, but the portions are very small and some are cold or lukewarm. The scampi was cold (once), and the steak was lukewarm. I found it difficult to sleep; the pillows were too soft, and perhaps the altitude was a factor? There were several saunas, all small, and the one at the front was only slightly warm. The pool was great, with loungers both inside and out. The staff is generally very good and very helpful, even at check-out. Oh yes, free parking is available. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The clientele is predominantly older. Would I want to come back again? Probably not. But everyone has to decide that for themselves. Everything I've written is my subjective opinion, and I stand by it!

We enjoyed a relaxing stay in April. Excursions, hikes, wellness facilities, and sports activities were plentiful. Connections to Bolzano, Merano, and surrounding towns are excellent via bus and train. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Dinner was very good, with a very large salad bar. Breakfast included salad, fruit, egg dishes such as omelets, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, boiled eggs, cakes, and more. We would love to come back again.

Hotel with a magnificent view. Excellent food, the only flaw being the choice of main courses—the side dishes are all the same. It's a family-friendly hotel, but there's no child-friendly amenities. The pool is cold, but fortunately there's a small, hot jacuzzi. The wellness center is small but nice, with herbal teas and dried fruit available. The room is large, but without a bidet and with really uncomfortable mattresses and pillows. Let's just say that for a 4-star hotel in South Tyrol, I would have expected a little more.

Just returned from a quick visit to this hotel in Scena (Merano) with my celiac son. They're obviously not certified, but they treated him well and made sure he had everything he needed. I'd say it was a great find, with a beautiful location and very spacious and comfortable rooms.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel...what can I say...we were made to feel at ease from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the rooms were fragrant. The breakfast was plentiful, both sweet and savory...and then dinner...every day different and carefully prepared by the chef!! A delight!! The staff were kind, helpful, and always smiling...And finally, the highlight...the pool with whirlpool and wellness program!!! Need I say more?!! I forgot...the view of Merano and the surrounding valleys...Highly recommended...even more!!!

Order, cleanliness, and hospitality

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location with a great view. Excellent breakfast and dinner, beautiful spa with everything you need. We had a wonderful stay. Discreet and friendly staff.

We had a wonderful short break at the Hotel Bellavista Meinhardt in Schenna. We received a warm welcome upon arrival and immediately received our South Tyrol guest pass via email. The staff member immediately explained everything we needed to know – from meal times to the activities on offer – truly attentive service. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied. I particularly like the fact that special requests were fulfilled immediately – my request for fresh onions and parsley was brought directly to our table. Additionally, scrambled or fried eggs can be ordered fresh in all variations, which further enhances the experience. The WMF fully automatic coffee machine in the buffet room also ensures a great start to the day. A small note: a little more vegetable selection at the buffet would have been nice, but otherwise, it was excellent. Dinner: The 4-course evening menu was excellent, varied, and offered something for every taste. The selection is easily checked in the morning. We particularly liked the salad buffet as a starter. Wellness area: Very clean and pleasant – the saunas are well-maintained, and the Kneipp watercourse was a refreshing change. Perfectly adequate for relaxing after a day of hiking. Rooms: Here's the only minor drawback: We booked through HolidayCheck and were given room 105 on the ground floor/basement. Several inverters for the photovoltaic system are mounted directly on the exterior wall. During the day, this caused an unpleasant humming noise in the room when the sun was shining. Although it was quiet in the evening, we still found the installation location a bit unfortunate – also because each device generates its own Wi-Fi network. For our next stay, we would definitely choose a room upstairs. Conclusion: Overall, it was a very pleasant stay with great food, friendly service, and a good location right on the Schenner Waalweg (Waal Trail) – perfect as a starting point for excursions. Despite the limitations of the room, we would be happy to come back!

This was our first time at the Hotel Meinhardt and we really enjoyed it – the view, the food, and the very nice, new rooms. From the hotel, the walk through the apple orchards to the mountains is a dream.
