Mountain Refugium & SPA Hotel Asterbel****S is located really sunny and quiet, surrounded by forests and meadows, in the beautiful landscape of Prags. Here you can enjoy the untouched alpine nature. Our hotel is an ideal starting point for the best hikes through the beautiful Dolomites of Prags. In the winter, the ski lifts of Prags open nearby the hotel. The skiing areas Kronplatz, Helm and Haunold are reachable in only 15 minutes by car.

Cosy rooms, indoor pool & saunas

All our suites – furnished in typical South Tyrolean style – are comfortable and cosy. During your stay, you have the opportunity to sleep in your suite in the hay! In addition, the hotel offers a swimming pool, a sunny and quiet sunbathing lawn, a spacious sauna area, a dress-on sauna in the pool area and a spa, in which we pamper you with natural high-quality products. For our little guests, we provide a game room and special offers for their needs. From mid-December 2025, we will reopen with an expanded wellness area, offering fantastic highlights for those seeking relaxation.

Enjoying South Tyrol all day long

You can enjoy our rich breakfast buffet with a lot of biological products, a big choice of teas and cereals, home-made sweets and much more every morning. In the afternoon, we provide snacks and a sweets buffet and for dinner we serve you a delicious five-course menu.

I booked half-board and the dinner was excellent. The room condition and service were also excellent. The location is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Lake Briers, making it easy to visit nearby areas, but it takes some time to get to Tre Cime and Cinque Torri.

A fabulous family-run hotel. Located in one of the most enchanting spots in the Dolomites, it stands out for its atmosphere and the quality of its service. It's close to the bus stop, providing easy access to all the area's attractions. Hiking trails are also a great starting point from the hotel.

This is our third time staying here, and we've always had a great time. The hotel lives up to its star rating, with attentive service, well-maintained rooms, and a warm welcome, always. The location is excellent, just ten minutes from the lake and Prato Piazza, where many excursions depart. We especially thank Kevin for always making sure we had everything we needed! Huge thanks also to the owner and his daughter. Congratulations, and we'll see you again soon!

We stayed at this hotel in mid-July with a couple of friends. The property is beautiful and offers many amenities for a pleasant and relaxing stay. Everything is spotless, and the cuisine is excellent, varied, and carefully prepared. The managers and staff are incredibly kind and attentive to their guests' every need. It was our first ever mountain vacation, and they helped make it very enjoyable. We had a wonderful time. Thank you

We were guests at the Hotel Alsterbel very spontaneously due to an overbooking from another hotel. A truly beautiful hotel, with a very friendly welcome. Great rooms, a huge breakfast buffet. The dinner is also a dream. The food was prepared with love. A large selection, a salad buffet, antipasti, two soups to choose from, a choice of starter, main course, and dessert, plus an additional dessert buffet. Everything was freshly prepared. The sauna area and pool were super nice, with additional loungers outside. Luigia's massages are truly pampering; you should definitely book one. All in all, we had a fantastic five days and will definitely be back. We wish the team all the best and good health.

A fantastic stay – highly recommended! We felt completely at home in this hotel. The hosts are very friendly and true gourmets – and it shows! The breakfast and the evening meal were excellent: fresh, lovingly prepared, and delicious. The cleanliness throughout the hotel also leaves nothing to be desired. You can feel that the work here is done with heart and passion. Thank you so much!

We stayed here for 2 nights. The owner of the place is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is very beautiful and pleasant. It's located in an isolated area so you can really relax and enjoy the silence. The food is very good and varied.
