Hotel Schmied Hans**** in Schenna near Meran was recently renovated and now shines in a new light. The small but exquisite house is run by our family with much love and offers a dreamlike panoramic view over Meran as well as everything for unforgettable active and wellness holidays in South Tyrol. Our guests are offered new rooms in the main building, comfortable rooms in the side wing, apartments in the main building as well as apartments in our apartment house Bougainvillea.

Delicacies for the palate from morning to night

Every morning, we pamper you with a delicious breakfast buffet, with healthy, mainly regional and seasonal as well as homemade products. In our Café Bistro Emmi, you can enjoy fresh bread every day, homemade cakes and strudel, ice cream or a drink on our sunny terrace. At dinner, you can eat in our elegant Restaurant Schmied. We also offer a wine and cocktail lounge, where we organise tastings from time to time. Here, gourmets and lovers of South Tyrolean quality wines, selected cocktails and signature drinks will find the perfect ambiance for really unique pleasures.

Wellness and activities for all

Our cosy living area with open fireplace, library and info corner as well as the spa with Turkish steam bath, Finnish panoramic sauna, bio sauna, spa lounge and much more are ideal for quiet and relaxing moments. During the warm season, we also offer a heated panoramic pool, outdoor whirlpool, sun terrace and the beautiful Mediterranean garden. In our Hotel Schmied Hans in Schenna, active vacationers will feel like in paradise. We offer an in-house rental for e-bikes as well as the rental hiking sticks and maps. The hotel is a good starting point for hikes, excursions and bike tours.

As a couple, we stayed at Hotel Schmied Hans for the second time – once in autumn and now again in summer. It's a wonderful, family-run little hotel. The rooms and apartments are truly beautiful and offer breathtaking views of the South Tyrolean mountains. All the staff and owners are incredibly kind. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, with something to suit every taste. You can relax in the beautifully designed sun loungers area. There's also a pool, steam room, and sauna. The modern relaxation room, stocked with drinks, fruit, and various teas, is very inviting. The location is also fantastic; you can reach the village in just 10 minutes. If you're feeling energetic, you can walk to Merano and back, or take the bus. There's a beautiful walking path through vineyards and apple orchards. Despite the heat, we had another unforgettable and wonderful time in Scheena.

We just spent a few days here again, and it feels a bit like coming home every time. This hotel isn't just beautiful; it has a very special, welcoming, and warm atmosphere that you feel from the moment you arrive.

The rooms are fantastic: stylish, cozy, high-quality furnishings, and designed with such attention to detail that absolutely nothing is lacking. It's the perfect place to unwind and feel completely at ease.

The pool area is also well-maintained, relaxed, and has a wonderful ambiance. A particularly nice touch: the pleasant music from the café even accompanies you to the pool, making the vacation feeling perfect.

The café is another real highlight: great coffee, a fantastic atmosphere, and, most recently, a beautiful play area for children. Our kids loved it, and we were able to enjoy our coffee in complete peace. It's details like these that make a huge difference for families.

A place where design, comfort, warmth, and family-friendliness come together perfectly. We've already planned our next stay and are really looking forward to it.

Great hotel in a fantastic location, early check-in was possible. Breakfast was very varied and incredibly fresh – excellent.

The only downside: we traveled with our dog and there was no bowl or anything else in the room, but that would have been the icing on the cake. Thanks for the wonderful vacation.

My group (4 adults and 3 children) stayed at the hotel in 3 of their 1 bedroom apartments.    The service could not have been any better.   The location is up overlooking the valley with exceptional views.    We were sad to leave, would love to come back one day.

Dear Schmiedhans Heroes,

We have been your guests for the eighth time now – and every time it feels like coming home. The warm, family atmosphere is simply unique – you can feel that true hospitality is lived here.

The food is always a highlight for us: both the extensive breakfast and dinner in the in-house restaurant are simply outstanding. We enjoy it so much that we always eat dinner at Schmiedhans – except when it's closed.

We are also particularly impressed by the varied menu in the restaurant every time – there are always new, creative dishes to discover, which Lukas, the chef, conjures up with great passion.

The rooms with southwest-facing balconies are spacious, modern, and tastefully furnished with a fantastic view.

A huge compliment to the host family, whose warmth and attentiveness make every stay special.

Three couples of our friends have even stayed at Schmiedhans based on our recommendation – and they were all thrilled.

We're already looking forward to the next time – every year it's like a holiday with friends!
