Welcome to the Perntal Retreat in Gais

Situated on the edge of the forest above the village of Gais, the Perntalhof is a farm that combines traditional down-to-earthness with innovative ideas. It stands not only for vegetable growing and livestock farming, but also for an exceptional farm holiday: our Perntal Retreat with 5 new and high-quality furnished apartments is a charming holiday retreat that focuses entirely on sustainable enjoyment and relaxation close to nature.

Comfortable apartments with terrace

All 5 apartments at the Perntal Retreat are comfortably furnished and offer a covered terrace, a perfectly equipped kitchenette, dining table, sofa, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, wooden floor, underfloor heating, controlled living room ventilation and a bathroom with shower, bidet, make-up mirror and hairdryer. A delicious farm-to-table breakfast, dinner once a week in the Mountain Trattoria, farm produce and pre-cooked seasonal dishes are available for an extra charge. There is also a car park, a charging station for electric cars and a lockable cellar for sports equipment on the farm.

Holiday experiences in summer & winter

The Perntal Retreat is the ideal holiday accommodation for a hiking, biking and winter holiday between mountain and valley, between the Dolomites and the Zillertal Alps. The Bruneck-Ahrntal cycle path passes right by our farm and there are also numerous other biking and hiking routes in the surrounding area for active holidaymakers. In winter, the two ski areas Kronplatz and Skiworld Ahrntal are within easy reach. And the nearby town of Bruneck attracts visitors with its lovely shops, cosy cafés and gourmet restaurants.

The three of us spent a wonderful week at Hof Perntal.
Annamaria and Markus are very warm and welcoming hosts who always have great tips for activities and restaurants.

Our apartment left nothing to be desired. Open-plan, modern and high-quality furnishings, and a view of the mountains from our bed that made us want to stay longer.

We enjoyed the beautifully presented and varied breakfast every day in the restaurant. It can also be enjoyed in the apartment upon request.

The culinary highlight was a three-course meal cooked for us by Markus in the open kitchen. Using fresh produce from the farm and the immediate surroundings, we were treated to an incredibly delicious meal. If you have the opportunity, you shouldn't miss it.

All in all, a place where you feel comfortable and welcome!

A beautiful, practical structure managed by two good, friendly, and always available but never intrusive (which is no small thing). Excellent breakfast with homemade products, beautiful view from the room, especially in the evening. Excellent family holiday, thank you Annamaria, you made us feel at home. We spent our two-week vacation in this wonderful natural idyll. The apartments are of exceptional quality, modern, and designed with plenty of space. The view of the mountains, the fresh morning air, and then the truly special offer of buying fresh vegetables straight from the field for your vacation. Everything is of such high quality. The breakfast is delicious, varied, and includes many homemade specialties. Dinner with the two of them is a MUST—so delicious, authentic, personable, and inspiring. I'll give it 5 stars based on what I've seen. It's not quite finished yet, but it's getting there. Since I know the owner, I know that everything is top-notch and will be finished.

Our stay at the Perntalhof was perfect all around. Anna Maria and Markus are kind-hearted people and run their hotel just like that.
We stayed in the "Belvedere" room, and it lives up to its name. The view in all directions was beautiful, and the room was perfectly designed. The furnishings are not only tasteful but also of very high quality. The kitchen is very modern, clean, and perfectly equipped.
Although other rooms are adjacent, you always had your privacy and it was so peaceful. The view of the fields and mountains is simply beautiful.

In addition to the wonderful rooms, there was a small magazine that Anna Maria and Markus produced especially for their guests. It contains a lot of information about their farm and its products, as well as their heartfelt recommendations for the region – both culinary and activity-related. We took advantage of the tips and were thrilled.

But an absolute highlight is the four-course menu on Thursdays. All guests of the hotel can come together there and are cooked by Anna Maria and Markus in their show kitchen. The ingredients are from our own farm or from the region – and everything tasted just as fresh and delicious.

Thank you for this perfectly relaxing vacation, Anna Maria and Markus. Stay the way you are!

We stayed with Annamaria and Markus for 9 days.
The time flew by  The apartments are very modern and comfortable. The location is quiet with a beautiful view, yet still central! What we really liked was the friendly service from the hosts – it couldn't be better, we think . The highlight was the dinner they offer once a week.
In summary, 100% recommended!

Ideal for anyone who wants to experience South Tyrol's culinary delights at a high level, who wants to stay in an upscale setting, away from mass tourism, and who appreciates the warmth and hospitality of Annamaria and Markus. Genuine, authentic, and cozy with style. Thursday evening was also fantastic, when the two prepared a wonderful meal for us using ingredients from the farm. Annamaria's tour of the farm was excellent. Our small family (4 people) felt very, very comfortable: we'll be back!

I had a wonderful stay at this apartment. The property was very organized and well maintained, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The view from the apartment was beautiful, and the beds were very comfortable.

It’s an ideal place for families and for long stays, as the kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for cooking, including a dishwasher.

Although the apartment doesn’t have air conditioning, it wasn’t necessary during our stay in July, as the weather was pleasantly cool. However, please note that there is no washing machine available in the apartment.

The apartment also provides a free parking spot with no additional fees.

If I visit Italy again, I will definitely return to this apartment with my family.
