Welcome to Gasthof Sturmhof in Villanders!

Our Gasthof Sturmhof is located in St. Valentin near Villanders, only about 2 km from the centre of Villanders, in a sunny panoramic position with far-reaching views over the Eisacktal Valley. The family-run business with eight cosy double rooms offers a personal and warm atmosphere in which guests immediately feel welcome. The idyllic surroundings between orchards, vineyards and the Villanderer Alm offer wonderful experiences in beautiful nature at any time of year.

Cosy rooms & traditional culinary delights

The double rooms at Gasthof Sturm are cosily furnished with lots of wood and have a shower/WC, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi and some also have a balcony. The hostess herself spoils her guests with typical South Tyrolean dishes such as dumplings or Schlutzkrapfen, placing great emphasis on fresh and regional ingredients. In autumn, Törggelen with roasted chestnuts and homemade wine from our vineyard is a traditional and sociable highlight.

Relaxation & activities close to nature

Our Gasthof Sturm offers a large sunbathing lawn with solar-heated pool, ideal for relaxing and refreshing in the summer months. The sun terrace and conservatory are perfect for an enjoyable break with a fantastic panoramic view. Between Keschtnweg and Villanderer Alm, the nearby surroundings invite you to enjoy a variety of hikes and, in winter, winter sports. The bus stop is also very close by, which is ideal for excursions.

Just one night for a Törggelen dinner in the area. The location is quiet and isolated from the village. The view from the room across the valley is spectacular. The garden and pool are not available at this time. The room, with slightly dated furniture, has a large balcony and a small, basic bathroom. Parking is convenient. The room temperature could be improved, as could the breakfast, which is very basic and with very little choice. Friendly staff.

We spent 10 wonderful days at the Sturmhof and felt very comfortable there. The Untermarzoner family's genuine concern for their guests is evident from the moment you arrive, and this continues throughout your stay. The rooms are comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. In fact, the entire house is impeccably maintained. Besides the main dining room, there's a rustic parlor, a lovely conservatory, and a large terrace. The atmosphere is very cozy. From the balcony, the conservatory, and the terrace, you have a magnificent view of the Eisack Valley and the Dolomites. There's also ample parking right at the house. Breakfast is plentiful and offers everything you could wish for. Half-board is available, but we didn't opt ​​for it as we were mostly out and about. A small menu is also available for dinner. Another plus for the Sturmhof is its popularity with locals. Guests can also relax by the beautiful pool or enjoy some exercise. In conclusion, the value for money is excellent, and we wholeheartedly recommend the Sturmhof.

For us, this is the best farm. The family is incredibly hospitable and welcoming; you immediately feel at home. The entire farm, including the rooms, is very clean. See you next year, and thank you for the wonderful time.

We stayed at this accommodation on a bikepacking trip. The bikes were locked in the garage. The room was quite spacious with a balcony. The day pass was manageable, but good... it's better to eat less but have quality.

Fantastic hotel, with extremely friendly staff and lovely, warm, and welcoming rooms. The bed was truly comfortable!!! It doesn't have a bidet, but that can be overlooked. It's completely immersed in nature, with a fantastic view of the valley, as is the location. It's just a few kilometers from Siusi, Ortisei, and Santa Maddalena, and there's also a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Highly recommended!

We rate the Sturmhof and give it 5 stars! We have been guests at the Sturmhof since 2019; my sister and brother-in-law have been coming annually since 1999. We receive a warm welcome, the food is varied, and there's a 4-course dinner menu, plus a salad buffet. The rooms are very clean, and if you like swimming, the pool has clear water with no chlorine smell and is always clean. What we also like: We can park our car. There's a bus stop directly across from the Sturmhof. With the guest card, you can travel by bus and train for free. Whether to the starting point of our hikes, to the Gasserhütte, or to Klausen, or further to Bolzano and Merano, and many other destinations. The buses run hourly. We'd love to come back!
