Oprócz profesjonalnej dokumentacji, renowacji i konserwacji zamku Trostburg i zamku Taufers, które są własnością Instytutu Zamkowego, stowarzyszenie jest również zaangażowane w podnoszenie świadomości wśród swoich członków.
Dobrowolne stowarzyszenie organizuje wystawy, seminaria i konferencje na temat zamków i pałaców. Promuje również publikacje na temat zamków oraz wydawanie czasopisma ARX (łac. zamek). Duże znaczenie ma ścisła współpraca z innymi europejskimi instytutami zamkowymi.
