A special event for a special instrument: CastelCello in Dorf Tirol is one of the few festivals worldwide that focuses on the cello and its music.
Between 25 and 28 July 2026, magical cello sounds will once again fill the romantic inner courtyard of the Brunnenburg Castle, Zenoburg Castle and Tyrol Castle – from classical music to jazz and improvisation. Since 2014, the CastelCello festival with European and international virtuosos has taken place within the medieval castle near Dorf Tirol.
As a museum and Ezra Pound memorial, the Brunnenburg Castle even houses a time-honoured cello from the famous American poet.
A masterclass by Francesco Dillon for violoncello will take place in the same week as the festival. At the concluding concert, the young cellists will demonstrate their talent.
