Idylla jest idealna: żadnych samochodów i hałasu daleko i szeroko, ale tylko szerokie alpejskie pastwiska, spiczaste szczyty i towarzystwo przyjaznych górskich przyjaciół, w tym gospodarza schroniska.
Kolorowe kwiaty, bujne alpejskie łąki, głębokie wąwozy, dziwaczne skały i rustykalne alpejskie pastwiska. W alpejskich chatach i schroniskach Południowego Tyrolu, pośpiech i stres pozostają w domu, a tradycyjne jedzenie utrzymuje ciało i duszę razem.
Większość schronisk górskich została zbudowana pod koniec XIX wieku - jako schronienie dla alpinistów. Chociaż początkowo pełniły one funkcję ochronną, od tego czasu stały się popularnym celem wycieczek i służą jako bazy dla turystów, alpinistów i narciarzy.
Schroniska są często prowadzone przez stowarzyszenia alpejskie - Alpenverein Południowym Tyrolu (AVS) i CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) - które dbają również o związane z nimi udogodnienia na szlakach i zapewniają zachowanie górskiej idylli.
