Na przełaj, przez wzgórza i bezdroża... Biegi górskie lub trail running stają się coraz bardziej popularne w Południowym Tyrolu - i to nie tylko wśród entuzjastów sportów ekstremalnych.

Liczne biegi górskie, które są obecnie organizowane jako zawody w Południowym Tyrolu, to zazwyczaj biegi dla zabawy, w których każdy może wziąć udział, pod warunkiem, że jest sprawny i zdrowy.
Zdecydowanie powinieneś byćdobrze wytrenowany, ponieważ krążenie, kości i stawy są poddawane większym obciążeniom podczas biegów górskich niż jogging lub klasyczne wędrówki górskie. Na wysokościach alpejskich trzeba być również pewnym siebie, w dobrej kondycji fizycznej i mieć dobrą wytrzymałość.

- Półmaraton Dolomity Saslong: w czerwcu, z Monte Pana wokół Grupy Sassolungo, 21 km i 900 metrów różnicy wysokości
- Stelvio Marathon: w lipcu, z Prato na Stelvio, 21 km i 2100 metrów przewyższenia.
- Ultner Höfelauf: w lipcu, bieg dla zabawy na Ultner Höfeweg, od 8 do 18 km w zależności od kategorii
- Sciliar-Catinaccio Sky Marathon: w lipcu, z Tires/St. Zyprian wokół masywu Catinaccio, 2 trasy: 36/45 km i 2000/3000 m różnicy wysokości
- Tre Cime di Lavaredo: we wrześniu, z Sesto do schroniska Tre Cime di Lavaredo, oryginalna trasa o długości 17 km i 1333 m przewyższenia.
- Dynafit Transalpine Run: we wrześniu, 7-dniowy wyścig etapowy przez Alpy, trasa i przewyższenia różnią się w zależności od roku.
- ValleAurina Sunnsat Run: w październiku, na słonecznych szlakach Valle Aurina, 22 km i 1000 metrów przewyższenia
- Bieg górski St. Martin im Kofel: jesienią, z Lacesch do St. Martin im Kofel, 6,2 km i 1100 m różnicy wysokości
